Builder of Color Coalition Hires Paola Villatoro as Research Manager

Introducing Paola Villatoro, Research Manager for the Builders of Color Coalition. Hired in March 2023, Paola will work to lead the planning and management of research and advocacy to increase access and diversity in Boston’s commercial real estate sector. 

The addition of the Research Manager position to the Builders of Color Coalition ensures the organization’s ability to conduct independent research and compile best practices industry-wide, to promote the economic well-being of minority businesses and the communities we serve. As a goal, BCC strives to transform the body and leadership of Boston’s real estate sector to be diverse and inclusive. 

Paola comes to the organization as Senior Fiscal Policy Analyst in the Massachusetts Senate Committee of Ways and means. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. 

More about Paola Villatoro 

Paola Villatoro serves as the Research Manager of the Builders of Color Coalition. She is a lifelong Boston resident and graduate of UMass Boston where she obtained a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Change and a minor in Political Science. After graduating in 2018, throughout her various roles, Paola has dedicated her career to working on issues and innovative solutions that improve the livelihoods of underrepresented communities across the Commonwealth. 

In her previous roles as  Senior Fiscal Policy Analyst in the Senate Ways and Means Committee, she focused on conducting education policy research to make funding and policy recommendations in areas that advance education in the Commonwealth. Additionally, she has served as Policy Director and District Liaison for former State Senator Joseph Boncore and has worked on local campaigns. She currently serves as a mentor for the Leg Up Scholarship where she helps provide wraparound support with the aim to facilitate academic and career success for her mentee.
